The men’s tennis team lost a tough 5-4 CUNYAC match to rival Hunter College on Friday afternoon at the U.S. National Tennis Center in Queens.

The Bearcats (6-4, 5-3 CUNYAC) and Hunter (9-2, 6-0 CUNYAC) each won three singles encounters, but Hunter won the match by winning two of the three doubles to clinch the very competitive 5-4 score.

Tadas Valiukenas was victorious at #3 singles with a 6-2, 6-3 score, and combined with Steven Zak to win at second doubles with a dominant 8-1 score.

The men’s tennis team will return to action on Tuesday, April 20, with a 3:30 pm home match at the U.S. National Tennis Center against NYU.
