The women’s volleyball team lost two matches on Saturday at the Ducks Invitational hosted by the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey.

The visiting Bearcats (10-8) lost the first morning match to the host school Stevens (10-12) by the scores of 25-23, 25-20, 25-20.

Jessica Wu led the Bearcats attack again with nine kills, 11 digs and two blocks. Lauren Hayden tallied six kills, while Megan Moody and Sara Stephani finished with five kills each. Melinda Santiago dished out 22 assists and collected seven digs.

In the second match against Richard Stockton College (15-5), the Bearcats lost by the scores of 25-19, 25-21, 25-19.

Wu led the way again with 13 kills (.354) and Hayden recorded eight kills (.368) to go along with three aces. Posey Wilson was tops defensively with 13 digs, while Santiago dished out 17 assists and Michelle Stommes added four kills (.444).

The women’s volleyball team will look to bounce back on Tuesday, October 4, with a 7:00 pm non-conference match at Rutgers-Newark from the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) in Newark, New Jersey.
