The women’s volleyball team recorded their 8th consecutive victory and sweep by defeating the United States Merchant Marine Academy in a non-conference match on Thursday night in King’s Point, New York.

The visiting Bearcats rolled to victory with a 25-11, 25-11, 25-23 victory to improve to 18-8 overall on the current regular season schedule.

Lauren Hayden led the team with seven kills and a .750 hitting percentage. Megan Moody was next best with six kills as the team finished hitting for a combined .358.

Melinda Santiago dished out 32 assists, while Jessica Wu and Sara Stephani added five kills each.

The Bearcats will return to action on Tuesday, October 25, with a 7:00 pm CUNYAC home match against Brooklyn College. Prior to the match, the team will honor their seniors Posey Wilson and Kate Rembas.
