The Manhattanville College Valiants defeated the Baruch College Bearcats, 84-70, in a non-conference contest played on Thursday night in the ARC Arena.

The visiting Valiants shot 48 percent (29-61) from the field and 50 percent (9-18) from 3-point range en route to the victory.  

The Bearcats shot 44 percent (25-57), including 50 percent (13-26) in the first half, but couldn't mount a rally against the solid shooting by their opponent from the Freedom Conference.  

Chris Beauchamp led the Bearcats with 14 points, while Nate Young scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds. Mickey Abbatiello rounded out the double-figure scorers with 11 points (4-4 fg).

Trevoy Pointer led the Valiants with 23 points (9-13 fg) and seven assists.

The men’s basketball team will return to action on Saturday, December 10, with a non-conference home contest against the State University of New York at Purchase from the Skyline Conference.

SCHEDULING/TIME NOTE: Please be advised that the time of the home game against Purchase on Saturday, December 10, will now start at 2:00 pm, instead of 1:00 pm. The annual men's basketball alumni game will take place at 12:30 pm that day.
