Bearcats Defeat Rival Hunter Hawks, 6-3

The men’s tennis team defeated rival Hunter College, 6-3, in a CUNYAC home match played on Friday afternoon at the U.S. National Tennis Center in Queens.

Christopher Jenkins recorded a solid victory at #2 singles with a 6-3, 7-5 score.

Freshmen
Phillip Bleustein was victorious at #4 singles in a comeback with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 score, and teamed up with Stephan Muller at #2 doubles for an easy 8-3 victory.

Bryan Adler also had a very competitive match at #5 singles, but earned the hard fought victory with a 6-1, 7-6 (7-1) win in tie-breaker.

The men’s tennis team was scheduled to return to action on Saturday, April 16, with a non-conference match against SUNY-Purchase, but it was postponed by expected rain and windy weather.

The Bearcats and Purchase have agreed to reschedule the match to Tuesday, April 26, at 6:00 pm, at the U.S. National Tennis Center.

The Bearcats will return to the courts on Tuesday, April 19, with their final regular season CUNYAC match against John Jay College of Criminal Justice. First serve at the U.S. National Tennis Center is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
