The Violets of New York University shutout the Bearcats by the score of 6-0 in a non-conference match played on Saturday afternoon at Gaelic Park on the campus of Manhattan College in Riverdale, New York.

The home team NYU (2-3-1) scored three goals in each half and out-shot the visiting Bearcats (3-4) by a 22-8 margin to record the victory in the annual meeting between the two teams.

Nimo Bergstroem (Berlin, Germany) scored a hat trick to lift NYU from the University Athletic Association (UAA) to their second victory of the season.

Akil George (Arima, Trinidad & Tobago) led visiting Baruch with five shots (2 shots on goal total), while Andriy Sokolov (Brooklyn, NY) added two shots in the tough loss.

The men’s soccer team will resume their CUNYAC schedule on Wednesday, September 21, with a match at Brooklyn College. Kick off at Kingsborough Community College soccer field is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
