The men’s soccer team defeated Medgar Evers College, 5-0, in a CUNYAC home match played on Saturday morning at the Met Oval in Maspeth, New York.

Edward Humphreys notched a hat-trick in the first half and Povilas Bella and Arlind Stafaj scored a goal each in the second half to help improve the team’s record to 5-4-3 overall and 5-0-2 (14 pts) in the CUNYAC.

The Bearcats outshot the visiting Cougars (1-8 overall, 0-4 CUNYAC), 24-10, which included a 16-3 advantage in the second half.

Christopher Peralta assisted on two goals, while Kyle Keague and Victor Tlepshev added an assist as the Bearcats have now posted five wins and two ties in their last seven matches.

Peter DiBona and Guy Sharav combined for four saves to help the team also record their second straight shutout.

The men’s soccer team will continue their busy schedule on Columbus Day, Monday, October 8, with a 12:00 pm non-conference home contest against SUNY-Maritime at the Met Oval.
