The men's soccer team won the 2012 CUNYAC Tournament Championship by defeating the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College, 4-2, in an exciting comeback on Saturday night at Randall's Island.

The Bearcats entered the match without having practice all week due to issues related to Hurricane Sandy. They started the match slow and two quick goals by Brooklyn striker Peterson Petit Frere gave the Bulldogs a dramatic 2-0 lead after just three minutes of play.

Despite the awful start, the Bearcats never lost their composure and slowly began their comeback with CUNYAC Tournament MVP
Akil George scoring a goal on an assist from Povilas Bella at 16:56.

The match entered the halftime with Brooklyn leading, 2-1, but
Kyle Keague tied it on a header off an assist by Nicholas Kolaj for the 2-2 tie at 53:44.

The two teams battled looking for the go-ahead goal, but the Bearcats continued their momentum by scoring their third goal at 71:33.
Christopher Peralta scored on a quick breakaway on an assist by Oren Kozlowski for the stunning 3-2 lead.

They added a fourth goal at 88:15 as Kozlowski recorded his second assist of the evening on a
Victor Tlepshev goal for the eventual 4-2 final score.

Overall, the Bearcats outshot the Bulldogs, 29-16, to demonstrate in the end that offensively they were more than capable of rallying for a 2-0 deficit to win 4-2.

The men's soccer team also earn the coveted NCAA berth and will discover their first round opponent/schedule on Monday, November 5, via a live video announcement at 1:00 pm on NCAA.com.
