Bearcats Split Doubleheader vs New Jersey City

The Bearcats and Gothic Knights from New Jersey City University went on to split a non-conference doubleheader on Thursday afternoon.

The Bearcats won the opening game, 6-2, but lost in mercy rule five innings, 9-0, in the second game.

In the opener,
Nicole Flint had another solid performance on the mound with a complete game victory of seven innings, four hits, two earned runs and seven strikeouts.

The offense came alive in the first game as the Bearcats totaled six runs on eight hits.
Carmen Pagan-Colon, Olivia Auman and Flint each had two hits. Melanie Pellegrino was busy on the bases scoring three runs.

In the second game, the Bearcats struggled as they were limited to only a first inning single by Olivia Auman.

The Gothic Knights from the New Jersey Athletic Conference broke open the contest with seven runs on six hits in the fifth inning en route to splitting the home doubleheader.

Today's doubleheader featured the terrific support of Baruch School President Mitchel B. Wallerstein and Vice President & Dean of Students Dr. Ben Corpus.
