Men's Tennis Earn First Victory, Shutout Purchase

The men’s tennis team recorded a 9-0 shutout of the Panthers from the State University of New York at Purchase on a chilly Tuesday afternoon in Purchase, New York.

The visiting Bearcats (1-1) swept all six singles and three doubles encounters to record their first victory of the regular season, while the Panthers begin the season with a loss.


Artem Gorbachevskiy played a thrilling match at #1 singles, winning 6-2, 4-6, 14-12 in tie-break.

Phillip Bleustein also won in tie-break at #5 singles, 6-1, 4-6, 10-7.

The doubles duo of  Gorbachevskiy and
Guy Goren cruised in #1 singles with the score of 8-0.

For a complete list of results, please read below. The men’s tennis team will return to action on Friday, March 9, with a 4:00 pm non-conference home match at the U.S. National Tennis Center against St. Joseph’s College of Patchogue from the Skyline Conference.
