The men’s tennis team suffered a 5-2 loss to the Violets of NYU in a non-conference match played on Tuesday afternoon at the USTA Billie Jean King U.S. National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York.

The match began with the Bearcats winning two of the three doubles, but the Violets won four of the six singles to clinch the fifth point for an overall 5-4 victory.

Encounters at #3 and #4 singles were unfinished, due to a combination of NYU winning the fifth overall point and a lack of court availablity after 7:00 pm.

The #2 doubles team of Christopher Jenkins and Stephan Muller were victorious with an 8-6 score. The #3 doubles team of Phillip Bleustein and Joe Laskowski continued their winning ways by winning a close encounter, 9-7.
