#20 William Paterson Sweeps Bearcats

The softball team suffered a doubleheader sweep to #20-ranked William Paterson University on Thursday afternoon in Wayne, New Jersey.

The Pioneers won with scores of 4-0 and 14-2 (5 inn.) to improve to 24-8 on the season, while the Bearcats fall to 12-20.

In the first game, the team was limited to only two hits as
Carmen Pagan-Colon reached base twice on a pair of singles. The Pioneers scored three runs in the third inning and added another in the fourth for the victory.

In the second game, the Bearcats took a 2-1 lead after batting in their half of the fourth inning as
Carmen Pagan-Colon scored on a fielding error and Olivia Auman smacked an RBI single to score pinch runner Kimberly Hernandez for the 2-1 score.

Unfortunately, the Pioneers scored nine runs on six hits in their bottom half of the fourth inning to record the 14-2 victory in five innings.

The softball team will return to action on Saturday, April 21, with a 12:00 pm CUNYAC doubleheader at the College of Staten Island in a battle for first place.
