Men's Tennis Defeats Rival Hunter (8-1) to Stretch Win Streak to Nine Matches

The men’s tennis team defeated rival Hunter College, 8-1, in a battle for first place played on Tuesday afternoon at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York.

The Bearcats won all three doubles and five of the six singles to record their ninth consecutive victory of the regular season. They improve their record to 9-1 overall and 5-0 in the CUNYAC, while Hunter suffers their first loss to drop to 6-1 overall and 4-1 in the CUNYAC.


Guy Goren, the CUNYAC Player of the Week, was victorious at #2 singles winning in tie-break 7-6 (7-4), 2-6, 10-4.

The third doubles team of
Phillip Bleustein and Joe Laskowski won, 8-4.

The men’s tennis team will return to action on Friday, April 6, with a CUNYAC road match at Lehman College in the Bronx.  Please note the match is scheduled to start at the recently updated time of 3:30 pm.
