Women's Volleyball Lose to St. John Fisher, Kean in Tri-Match

The women's volleyball team played a pair of non-conference matches on Saturday afternoon at a Tri-Match hosted by Kean University in Union, New Jersey.

The visiting Bearcats started against St. John Fisher from Rochester, New York, and lost in four sets with scores of 17-25, 25-20, 22-25, 19-25.


McKenzie Davidson had a solid match with 21 kills and 15 digs. Rebecca Peralta had 12 kills, while Crystle Dela Cruz finished with 38 assists, 12 digs and two aces in the loss to an opponent from the Empire 8 Conference.

Amy Sung recorded her fourth match of the season with 20+ digs in finishing with 21.

In the second match, the Bearcats started strong against Kean from the New Jersey Athletic Conference with a 25-22 first set win by hitting .308, but they cooled off the rest of the way losing 17-25, 12-25, 12-25.

Davidson stepped up again with 16 kills. Peralta had six kills and Dela Cruz totaled 23 assists to go along with 11 digs.

The Bearcats will return to action on Columbus Day with an 8:00 am match against Lehman, followed by a noon time match against John Jay at the CUNYAC Multi-match hosted by Hunter College.
