Women's Volleyball Lose in Four to New Paltz State

The women's volleyball team lost in four sets to the State University of New York at New Paltz on Wednesday night in New Paltz, New York.

The visiting Bearcats started with a rough 25-8 first set loss, but bounced back to tie it with a 25-17 second set victory.

New Paltz won the last two sets with scores of 25-18, 25-17 to raise their season record to 16-5, while the Bearcats are now even at 9-9.


Rebecca Peralta led the attack with 13 kills and seven digs. McKenzie Davidson, this week's CUNYAC Player of the Week, had another busy match with nine kills, 13 digs and one block.

Crystle Dela Cruz dished out 26 assists and 11 digs, while Nicole Lockwood recorded her fifth straight match in double-digits with 18 digs.

The women's volleyball team will return home to the ARC Arena for a Friday, October 4, 8:00 pm match against Russell Sage Women's College from Albany, New York. The Gators are a member of the
Skyline Conference.
