The Bearcats controlled the action from start to finish to also stretch their undefeated CUNYAC streak to 18 in a row, while improving their season record to 7-5 overall and 7-0 (21 pts) in the conference standings.

In addition, they clinch first place to win the regular season championship for the second year in a row.

Kevin Romero scored twice to increase his season tally to four, while Robert Kawasaki netted his first via a penalty kick.

The Bearcats won the shooting battle with a 21-10 advantage.

Helder Correia earned the shutout with seven saves.

The men's soccer team will finish their regular season schedule on Saturday, October 26, with a 3:30 pm CUNYAC contest against York College scheduled to be played at Randall's Island Field #50.

The Bearcats were initially scheduled to play a road match versus York on October 2, but the match was postponed due to the government shutdown that affected Aviator Field in Brooklyn.

In other news, the team is confirmed to host a CUNYAC quarterfinal playoff home match on Wednesday, October 30, at 4:30pm at the Met Oval in Maspeth, New York. The entire tournament schedule will be confirmed and released by the conference office in the near future.
