Women's Volleyball Sweeps Russell Sage (25-21, 25-14, 25-22)

The women's volleyball team swept the Gators from Russell Sage Women's College on Friday night in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats started slow in the first set and fell behind 12-7, but they would score the next eight points en route to pulling out a 25-21 opening set victory against their visiting opponent from the
Skyline Conference.

They dominated the second set hitting .538 to record a 25-14 victory. In the third set, the two teams were tied at 22, but a kill each by
Sydney Parks and Eleni Efstathiadis, along with an attack error by the opponent, helped hand the Bearcats the 25-22 victory to complete the 3-0 sweep.

Rebecca Peralta had another strong double-figure performance with 13 kills and 19 digs.  McKenzie Davidson, the CUNYAC Player of the Week, totaled 10 kills and seven digs.

Crystle Dela Cruz dished out 35 assists and collected 15 digs to also go double-figures. Nicole Lockwood finished with 11 digs as the Bearcats improve to 10-9 on the season schedule.

The Bearcats will enjoy a brief break and resume action on Saturday, October 12, by competing at a tri-match hosted by Kean University in Union, New Jersey. St. John Fisher of Rochester, New York is the third team in the tri-match.
