The softball team finished the regular season portion of their schedule with an 8-0 shutout in five innings over SUNY-Purchase on Tuesday afternoon in Purchase, New York.

The victory raises the team’s record to 19-16, while the Panthers fall to 5-19.

Nicole Flint pitched her ninth shutout of the season by allowing only two hits and striking out 12. At the plate, she helped the victory by batting 2-for-3, with two runs scored and three RBI.

Five different players had two hits led by Christine Bowman (2 RBI) and Olivia Auman (2 RBI, 1 run) as part of the team’s 11-hit attack to defeat their opponent from the Skyline Conference.

The Bearcats will return to action with the most important weekend of the season starting on Friday at the CUNYAC Championship Tournament to be hosted by Staten Island. They open play against Wednesday’s play-in game winner between Hunter and John Jay.
