The women's volleyball team started their conference schedule on a winning note by sweeping Brooklyn and York Colleges at the CUNYAC Multi-Match played on Saturday morning at York College in Jamaica, New York.

The multi-match, which brings together all the conference schools on one date to play two matches (thereby saving dates to play more non-conference matches), started for the Bearcats at 9:00 am against the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College.

The Bearcats won with scores of 25-6, 25-19, 26-24 as
Sydney Parks tallied nine kills and Rebecca Peralta added eight kills.

Crystle Dela Cruz dished out 18 assists and collected 12 digs. Amy Sung finished with 10 digs in the conference opener.

In the second match against York, the Bearcats pounded out a 25-22, 25-13, 25-16 victory against the hosts Cardinals on their home court.

Peralta was the leader again with 10 kills and
McKenzie Davidson totaled eight kills and nine digs. Dela Cruz was busy again with 24 assists to help the team improve to 4-6 overall and 2-0 in the CUNYAC.

The team also stretches their CUNYAC overall win streak (regular & postseason) to 22 in a row, dating back to the 2011 season.

The women's volleyball team will return home on Tuesday, September 17, for a 6:00 pm CUNYAC home contest against the Dolphins from the College of Staten Island.
