Box Score

The men's soccer team defeated the Cougars of Medgar Evers College, 4-2, in a CUNYAC contest played on Wednesday afternoon at Randall's Island Field #10.

The Bearcats improve their record to 6-5 overall and 2-2 (6 pts) in the CUNYAC, while the Cougars drop to 4-5 overall and 2-3 (6 pts) in conference play.

The two teams were tied 2-2 in the 75th minute but late goals by
William Rosales and a brilliant solo run by Danny Goldberg helped catapult the Bearcats to the home victory.

Myles Bent started the scoring in the 18th minute off assists from Goldberg and Kevin Romero. Romero dribbled the ball into the box, passed off to Goldberg, who eventually found an unmarked Bent to tap in the opening goal.

The Cougars tied the match seven minutes later on a corner kick, but the Bearcats responded in the 29th minute with
Edward Humphreys scoring with a shot from 18 yards to the high post on an assist from Urim Bibovic for a 2-1 lead.

Medgar Evers tied the match again in the 75th minute, but it would be short-lived as Rosales scored three minutes later from inside the box off assists from Goldberg and Humphries.

Goldberg clinched the win with a solo run down the middle through the heart of the defense to beat the goalkeeper one-on-one for the 4-2 score in the 83rd minute. He finished the match with two assists and one goal.

Humphreys had a goal and an assist.
Peter DiBona earned the win in front of the net with three saves.

The Bearcats out-shot the Cougars, 30-8, in a match that started with heavy rain, saw the sun appear briefly, and finished under the bright lights of Randall's Island.

The team will return to action on Wednesday, October 8, with a 5:30 pm CUNYAC home contest at the Met Oval against York College.
