The men's soccer team defeated York College, 2-1, in a CUNYAC home contest played on Wednesday evening at the Met Oval in Maspeth, New York.

The coaching duo of Ranford Champagnie (Head Coach) and Dima Kamenshchik (Associate Head Coach) recorded their 100th career win since starting in 2004.

The Bearcats stormed out in the second half with a 13-7 shot advantage and quickly opened the scoring at the 49th minute mark.
Edward Humphreys scored his fourth goal of the season off a through ball assist from Myles Bent.

They increased the lead to 2-0 in the 85th minute as
William Rosales took a cross from Alexander Marano and nudged the ball past two defenders through the bottom left corner of the goal.

York did not go quietly and took advantage of a defensive miscue to cut the score to 2-1 with two minutes left.

The Bearcats held on for the conference win to record to improve to 7-5 overall and 3-2 (9pts) in the CUNYAC standings.

Goalkeeper
Helder Correia was busy with six saves, including a big stop of a York penalty kick during the second half. Danny Goldberg led all players with four shots, including one that hit the post.

The men's soccer team will return to action on Saturday with a 12:00 pm CUNYAC home contest at the Met Oval against Brooklyn College.
