Softball Team Honors Seniors & Host Player Alumni Game, Split DH vs John Jay

The softball team split their two conference matches on Sunday against John Jay College of Criminal Justice at Randall's Island Field #12.

The Bearcats dropped the first game, 9-4, but came back in the second for a 2-1 win. Prior to the start of the doubleheader, the players and coaches honored seniors

The Bearcats took a 4-1 lead in the first inning of the first game. White hit an RBI single to plate
Jacqueline Gioia. Auman then created some history by smacking a long three-run homer to centerfield for her ninth all-time home run for Baruch, which is a record.

John Jay controlled the rest of the game by scoring in each of the third through sixth innings for the 9-4 win in front of Baruch's largest crowd of the season.

In the second game, the Bearcats squeezed out a 2-1 win.
Jessica Piccolino hit an RBI double down the left field line in the second inning to score Kristen Podlovits.  White later smacked a solo homer to right field for a 2-0 lead through four innings.

The visiting Bloodhounds cut the score to 2-1 in the sixth inning, but the Bearcats and pitcher Auman held on to secure the victory.

After the doubleheader, the team hosted their annual alumni game with more than 20 players getting together one more time to play softball in a fun game.

The softball team will return to action on Tuesday, April 15, with a 3:00 pm doubleheader against the State University of New York at Old Westbury. The game will be played at Randall's Island (Field TBA, check back on Monday.)
