Women's Volleyball Sweeps Albright, Falls to DeSales in Final Day of DeSales Invitational

The women's volleyball team split their two matches on Saturday in the final day of the DeSales Invitational in Center Valley, Pennsylvania.

The Bearcats earned their first win with a 3-0 sweep (25-15, 25-21, 25-19) of Albright College from the
Commonwealth Conference. Sydney Parks (9 kills) and Symone Green (8 kills) led the attack, while Amy Sung collected 19 digs in the back.

In their second match at 2:00 pm, the team suffered a tough four-set loss to weekend hosts DeSales University. They dropped the first two sets (18-25, 21-25), but bounced back in the third to win, 25-21.

The Bearcats led midway through the fourth set, but DeSales rallied to pull out the 25-21 victory for the overall 3-1 victory on their home court.

McKenzie Davidson and Green each had 10 kills to lead the attack, while Michelle Stommes contributed nine kills. Parks had seven kills and Crystle Dela Cruz dished out 37 assists. For the second time in two days, Sung recorded 26 digs in a match.

McKenzie Davidson was named to the All-Tournament Team.

The women's volleyball team will return to action on Tuesday, September 2, with a 7:00 pm non-conference match at St. Joseph's College of Long Island.
