Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Women's Volleyball Defeats Kean in Five

The women's volleyball team competed this weekend at the Kean Invitational in Union, New Jersey.

The Bearcats finished with a 1-3 record, but ended invitational play with a solid 3-2 win over the hosts Kean Cougars in five sets.

The visiting Bearcats totaled 53 kills, compared to 51 by the Cougars, with Sydney Parks (15 kills), Akilah Meulens (12 kills) and Symone Green (10 kills) leading the attack to defeat an opponent from the New Jersey Athletic Conference.

Crystle Dela Cruz had 44 assists and 14 digs, while Amy Sung was busy collecting 32 digs in the win.

In other highlights this weekend, McKenzie Davidson totaled 12 kills and Sung totaled 39 digs against Frostburg State of Maryland.

Sydney Parks was named to the All-Tournament Team for her efforts this weekend.

The Bearcats will return to action on Thursday, October 8, with a 7:00 pm home contest against the Pioneers from William Paterson University.
