Women's Volleyball Finishes Second at 2015 CUNYAC Championship

Other Story: Women's Volleyball Wins Two Major Awards, Six Players Voted All-Stars

The women's volleyball team finished in second place at the 2015 CUNYAC Volleyball Championships on Friday night at Hunter College.

The evening started with a 3-0 sweep (25-20, 25-9, 25-14) of the Bloodhounds of John Jay College of Criminal Justice in the semifinal match at 6pm.

McKenzie Davidson led the way with 10 kills (.391) to send the Bearcats to their sixth consecutive final against rival Hawks of Hunter College that started at 8pm.

The two teams went back-and-forth in the first set that went extra, but Hunter won, 29-27. The Hawks jumped out to a 9-3 lead in the second set and won 25-16 for a 2-0 lead. The momentum stayed on their side in the third for a 25-14 overall victory.

Sydney Parks led the Bearcats' attack with eight kills and Amy Sung had 17 digs. Both players were named to the CUNYAC All-Tournament Team.

The Bearcats finish the season with an 18-19 overall record.
