Bearcats Fall to Staten Island

The women's basketball team lost 82-54 to the Dolphins from the College of Staten Island in a CUNYAC home contest on Tuesday night in the ARC Arena.

Jacqueline Kennedy scored a career-high 28 points and grabbed 14 rebounds with five blocks in the tough home loss.

Veronica Ganzi scored 11 points as the Bearcats drop to 1-1 with their conference record. Alicia Williams had her finest game of the season with eight points and seven rebounds.

Kristen Podlovits, who is currently second in the NCAA Division III with 8.5 assists per game, had 10 total assists this evening.

The visiting Dolphins (2-0 CUNYAC) shot 41 percent (30-for-74) from the field and won the rebounding battle with a 53-33 advantage.

Samantha Flecker led five players in double-figure scoring with a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds.
