The softball team defeated Yeshiva University in a non-conference doubleheader on Sunday afternoon at Randall's Island Field #34.

Prior to the first game, the team honored seniors
Jacqueline Gioia and Jaclyn Torres for their years of service to the softball program.

The Bearcats won the first game, 22-1, after smacking a season-high 19 hits for the five inning mercy-rule win.

Christina Chin (3-for-3, 4 runs, 1 RBI) and Vanessa Santana (3-for-3, 3 runs, 1 RBI) each led the team at the plate, while Kristen Podlovits hit an inside the park homer to finish with three total RBI.

Victoria Dolan scored three runs and Jessica Piccolino had three RBI in the victory.

In the second game, the Bearcats fell behind 6-0 in the first inning, but slowly came back the rest of the game to pull out the 13-9 win for their fifth win of the season, which surpasses last year's total.

Dolan led the team batting 3-for-4 with four RBI. Chin finished the day perfect batting 2-for-2 to go along with 3-for-3 in the first game. Gioia and
Kimberly Rodriguez totaled three RBI each.

The team completed the comeback with seven runs in the fifth inning and held on for the victory, while fending off a Yeshiva rally in their last at-bat.

The Bearcats will return to action on Thursday, April 23, with a 4:00 pm non-conference doubleheader at Rutgers-Newark in Newark, New Jersey.
