Bearcats Fall at Neumann Invitational, Crystle Dela Cruz Named All-Tournament

The women's volleyball team finished their participation on Saturday at the Neumann Volleyball Invitational in Ashton, Pennsylvania.

The team put up a tough battle in their two matches but fell to Widener University (25-23, 25-20, 25-17) and Neumann University (25-20, 25-16, 25-22).

Against Widener from the Middle Atlantic Conference, McKenzie Davidson led the attack with nine kills, hitting .304. Akilah Meulens had seven kills and Amy Sung totaled 16 digs in the morning match.

Against the weekend hosts Neumann from the Colonial States Athletic Conference, Davidson and Symone Green recorded six kills each. Sung and Crystle Dela Cruz finished with 22 digs apiece.

Dela Cruz was named to the Neumann Invitational All-Tournament Team.

The Bearcats will return to action on Thursday, September 24, with a 6:00 pm CUNYAC home match in the ARC Arena versus Medgar Evers College.
