Men's Soccer Runs Past Stevenson of Maryland (4-2)

The men's soccer team recorded an impressive 4-2 road win at Stevenson University in Stevenson, Maryland on Saturday afternoon.

The victory helps the Bearcats raise their record to 2-0 on the young season schedule.


Alexander Marano opened the scoring in the 16th minute on a cross from William Rosales.

The Mustangs tied the game a minute later on a penalty kick, but the Bearcats took back the momentum in the 36th minute on a thru ball pass by
Stanley Goldberg to goal scorer Constantinos Meleties to lead 2-1.

They continued to surprise Stevenson at the start of the second half and took a 3-1 lead in the 49th minute on
Oshae Miller's second goal of the season on a long ball assist by Rashid Allah Morad.

Stevenson kept it interesting late and scored to cut the lead to 3-2 with under four minutes remaining to give their team some hope, but
Diego Alvarado scored in the final minute by chipping the ball over the goalkeeper to ice the 4-2 win against a team that competes in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC).

Goalkeeper
Xavier Carrillo earned the win with seven saves.

The Bearcats will return to action tomorrow with a 2:00 pm match at McDaniel College in Westminister, Maryland.
