Men's Soccer Falls in CUNYAC Semifinals

The men's soccer team lost 2-1 to the Hawks of Hunter College in a CUNYAC semifinal played on Saturday afternoon at Brooklyn College.

The playoff begin at a furious pace with Hunter scoring first in the opening minute, but the Bearcats re-captured the momentum a few minutes later to tie the match with a header goal by Dortion Alipaj off an assist by Jaime Zurro.

Hunter scored late in the first half to lead 2-1 at the intermission.

The Bearcats out-shot the Hawks, 6-3, in the second half, but could not find the tying goal to suffer the postseason loss.

The team will finish their season schedule on Friday, November 11, with a 12 p.m. rescheduled match at Yeshiva University. The two teams were initially scheduled to play on October 14, but at the request of Yeshiva, it was pushed to November 11.
