Men's Soccer Edges Medgars Evers (2-1)

The men's soccer team defeated the Cougars of Medgar Evers College, 2-1, in a non-conference contest played on Monday night at Randall's Island Field #10.

The Bearcats opened the scoring early in the 13th minute with Jaime Zurro beating the goalkeeper one-on-one after a well-placed through ball from Colby Aranibar.

Oshae Miller increased the lead four minutes into the second half after a Zurro through ball split the defense to find Miller alone to score the second goal.

The Cougars cut the lead to one on an own goal with three minutes left and kept pressuring for the tying goal, but the Bearcats shut them down for the win.

Overall, the Bearcats out-shot the Cougars, 17-7, and forced the Cougars' goalkeeper into making eight saves.

The Bearcats will return to action on Wednesday, October 5, with a 4 p.m. CUNYAC road match against John Jay College of Criminal Justice at Randall's Island Field #75.
