Men's Volleyball Splits CUNYAC Multi-Match, Stephen Roach Tallies 37 Kills vs Hunter

The men's volleyball team split their two matches at the second CUNYAC Multi-Match of the season hosted on President's Day, Monday February 15, at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City.

The Bearcats started by losing a tough encounter in five sets to their rival Hunter College Hawks. They began strong by winning the first two sets with scores of 25-18, 25-21, but the Hawks rallied back with 25-22, 25-22, 17-15 for the narrow victory that went the extra distance.


Stephen Roach had one of the finest nights in Baruch men's volleyball history with 37 kills and 10 digs in the effort. Samuel Rabidoux had 12 kills and Nathaniel Chin nine as part of the attack.

Scott Standring dished out a season-high 56 assists and Taylor Higgs had 12 digs in the conference contest.

In the second match, the Bearcats quickly bounced back with a 25-13, 25-5, 25-12 sweep.
Thomas Leslein was tops on the team with 14 kills and Brian Coniglio had 23 assists to help improve the team's record to 4-1 in the CUNYAC.

The Bearcats will return to action on Thursday, February 18, with 7 p.m. conference match at the College of Staten Island.
