Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Men's Volleyball Sweeps Brooklyn, CSI at CUNYAC Multi-Match

The men's volleyball team started their CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) schedule on Saturday in the ARC Arena with a pair of 3-0 sweeps.

The first Multi-Match of the season, which brings together all the conference schools for two matches, saw the Bearcats start play against the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College with 25-16, 25-15, 25-13 scores.

Thomas Leslein led the attack with 12 kills, while Brady Ambro had seven and Jacob Mareschal Rudin six in the team's first win of the season.

Brian Coniglio dished out 30 assists and Nathaniel Chin collected six digs.

Rudy Zhao and Vaughn Titus led the visiting Bulldogs with seven kills each.

In the second match, the Bearcats dispatched the Dolphins from the College of Staten Island with scores of 25-16, 25-15, 25-13 to go 2-0 in the early CUNYAC schedule.

Ambro was the top hitter with 11 kills, while Rudin and Stephen Roach had eight kills each. Scott Standring had 30 assists and Chin finished with nine digs.

The Bearcats hit .355 overall and started the third set by scoring the first 16 points.

Danil Kukovistskiy led the Dolphins with five kills.

The Bearcats will continue their home and CUNYAC schedule on Wednesday, February 10, with 7 p.m. contest against the Cardinals of York College.
