Men's Volleyball Defeats John Jay, York at CUNYAC Multi-Match, Hunter Showdown Approaching

The men's volleyball team defeated John Jay College of Criminal Justice and York College on Saturday afternoon at the CUNYAC Multi-Match hosted by York in Jamaica, New York.

The two victories set up a highly-anticipated showdown between first place Hunter (14-0) and second place Bearcats (14-1) on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at home in the ARC Arena.

The match was initially scheduled to be played at Hunter, but due to circumstances beyond their control, the match was moved to our home gym.

In the first match of the day, the Bearcats defeated John Jay for the second time this week in another tough clash with scores of 23-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-23. They hit .353 with 59 total kills, compared to .162 and 37 kills by John Jay.

Brady Ambro pounded out 18 kills and Scott Standring had 17 in the successful attack. Stephen Roach dished out a career-high 39 assists.

In the second match against Hunter. Ambro led again with 11 kills and Brian Coniglio had 20 assists in a 25-17, 25-8, 25-9 victory.
