Men's Volleyball Loses in Five Sets to No. 12 Vassar

The men's volleyball team lost in five to the No. 12-ranked Brewers of Vassar College on Wednesday night in Poughkeepsie, New York.

The Bearcats (9-9) fell with scores of 18-25, 29-27, 15-25, 25-23, 13-15 to lose a highly-competitive five-setter for the second straight week to a nationally-ranked opponent.

The Brewers pounded out 60 kills hitting .229, while the visiting Bearcats totaled 55 kills hitting .156.

Ambro narrowly missed tying a career-high with 22 kills, while Stephen Roach had 15 in the attack.

Scott Standring was busy again with 44 assists and Taylor Higgs collected a season-high 16 digs in the tough road loss.

Reno Kriz led the home team with 17 kills as the Brewers raise their season record to 15-5.

The Bearcats will quickly resume action tomorrow night (Thursday) with a 7 p.m. CUNYAC contest in Brooklyn, New York against Medgar Evers College.
