Men's Tennis Falls to Rival Hunter (6-3), Finish Second in CUNYAC Regular Season

The men's tennis team lost to CUNYAC rival Hunter College, 6-3, on Friday evening in Middle Village (Queens) to snap their winning streak at 10 matches.

The Bearcats got off to a fast start by taking two of three in doubles competition. The first doubles tandem of Hugo Castalan and Leonard Margolis registered an impressive 8-3 win to begin the competition. Samuel Hajibai and Max Navarro collected an 8-2 win in third doubles to give Baruch a 2-1 advantage heading into singles competition.

Despite another dominant performance by Dardan Sopjani (6-0, 6-2) in the fifth singles, the Bearcats suffered their first conference loss after Hunter won five of the six singles to walk off with the win.

The Bearcats will return to action next Tuesday, April 19, with a 6:30 p.m. non-conference match versus NYU at the Queens College courts in Flushing, New York.
