Women's Volleyball Hosts Tri-Match with NYU & St. Mary's College of Maryland

The women's volleyball team lost both ends of their home tri-match to St. Mary's College of Maryland Seahawks and the New York University Violets on Saturday afternoon in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats were defeated by the Seahawks in straight sets 25-7, 25-6, 25-17. Alessandra Chavez recorded four kills and Marisa Bou tallied nine digs for the hosts.  The visitors were paced by Ali Graf (17 kills) and Mia Griffiths (34 assists).

In their second match, the Bearcats fell to NYU with scores of 25-15, 25-17, 25-10. Stephanie Cornwell dished out 15 assists in the tough loss. The Violets received strong performances from Caroline Rapp (12 kills, 11 digs) and Zel Forton (26 assists).

The middle match saw NYU take down St. Mary's (16-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-22) in four sets.  

The Bearcats will quickly return to action this week with road contests against Brooklyn College on Tuesday night (6 p.m.) in Brooklyn and William Paterson University Thursday (7 p.m.) in Wayne, New Jersey.
