The women's volleyball team finished their participation on Saturday afternoon in the DeSales Invitational in Center Valley, Pennsylvania.
The Bearcats swept Gwynedd Mercy University (25-16, 25-22, 25-19) in their 12 p.m. match today, but fell to weekend hosts DeSales (15-25, 10-25, 14-25) at 2 p.m.
Last night, the Bearcats defeated Rutgers-Camden, but lost to Washington College (Md.) to finish with a 2-2 overall record to start the season.
Akilah Meulens led the attack again in the sweep against Gwynedd Mercy with 14 kills. Alessandra Chavezwas next best with six kills and rookie Stephanie Cornwell had 25 assists.
The team put up a tough battle in the loss against DeSales. Meulens was top hitter with six kills and Marisa Bou had 12 digs.
The Bearcats will next return to action with their home opener on Thursday, September 8, at 6 p.m. against the College of Mount St. Vincent.
