Lightning Outlasts Bearcats (74-66)

The women's basketball team lost 74-66 to the Lightning of Lehman College in a CUNYAC road contest on Tuesday night in the Bronx, New York.

The two teams played a competitive first half (39-38), but the host Lightning started the third quarter with an 18-4 run to lead 57-42 with 4:38 remaining in the quarter.

The visiting Bearcats regrouped and scored the next 10 points to get as close as 57-52, but the Lightning built the lead back up to 64-55 to end the quarter.

The Bearcats could not get any closer in the fourth quarter to suffer the road loss at The Apex Center.

Shannon Barrett led four players in double-figure scoring with another double-double of 20 points and 14 rebounds. Daniela Arias finished with 15 points, nine rebounds, and four assists.

Amely Del Rosario led the home team with 27 points, six assists, and five steals.

The Bearcats will return home on Thursday to host their Annual Battle of Lexington Event at 6 p.m. against the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College.
