CCNY Downs Bearcats (72-54)

The women's basketball team lost 72-54 to the Beavers of The City College of New York in a CUNYAC contest on Tuesday night.

The Beavers out-rebounded the Bearcats, 61-50, and connected on 11 total three-pointers for the win.

The two teams each scored 29 total points in the third and fourth quarters for an evenly played second half, but the strong start by the Beavers was enough to clinch the home win on Alumni Day.

Daniela Arias led the Bearcats with 21 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals. Shannon Barrett, who earlier today was named a DII-III Met Basketball Writers Association Player of the Week Honorable Mention, totaled 14 points and eight rebounds.

Melinda Spahiu also scored 14 points to go along with grabbing six rebounds, while Lissette Debord collected a career-high 10 rebounds.

Ashley Brooks and Debra Chan were the top scorers for the Beavers with 20 points each.
