Men's Volleyball Defeats John Jay (3-0), Lehman (3-1) in CUNYAC Home Tri-Match

The men's volleyball team is off to a 2-0 start in conference play after recording a pair of home wins against John Jay and Lehman Colleges in a CUNYAC Tri-Match in the ARC Arena on President's Day, Monday, February 20.

In the morning (10:00 a.m.) match, the Bearcats recorded a 25-15, 25-21, 25-18 sweep against Bloodhounds from John Jay College behind 10 kills and eight digs from Nicholas Godino.

Samuel Rabidoux and Stephen Roach (19 assists) each posted eight kills, while Aaron Kim contributed 14 assists and Steven Lopez 10 digs. 

Overall, the Bearcats recorded a 39-19 advantage in total kills.

In the middle match (Noon), the Lightning of Lehman College defeated John Jay in four sets (22-25, 25-16, 25-11, 25-17).

In the afternoon (2:00 p.m.) match, the Bearcats in a very tough contest defeated the Lightning of Lehman College in four sets (25-19, 18-25, 25-20, 25-22).

Godino paced the attack again with 15 kills and 10 digs. Lopez was next best with 12 kills and five digs.

Jacob Mareschal Rudin had nine kills and Kyriakos Semertzidis tallied 11 digs in the conference win.

The Bearcats will return to action on Saturday, February 25, with a match at No. 4 ranked Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey. Please note the revised time for this match is now for 11:30 a.m.
