Men's Volleyball Finishes Second at CUNYAC Finals

The men's volleyball team finished in second place at the 2017 CUNYAC Finals hosted by Hunter College.

The Bearcats started with a dramatic 25-23 win after a tremendous double block by Samuel Rabidoux and Nicholas Godino clinched the winning set point.

The No. 9 nationally-ranked Hawks came back to win the next three sets with scores of 25-19, 25-18, 25-21 to win the title and automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.

The Hawks totaled 60 kills hitting .299, while the Bearcats had 48 kills hitting .194.

Stephen Roach had a solid match with 16 kills and nine digs. 

Overall, the match was a highly entertaining and competitive affair in front of a festive crowd.

The Bearcats defeated Lehman in the 4:00 pm semifinal in a sweep with scores of 25-12, 25-13, 25-12 to advance to play in their 12th straight CUNYAC championship match.   

CUNYAC Men's Volleyball Championship

First Round- Tuesday, April 11th @ Higher Seed

#3 Lehman defeated #6 Staten Island, 3-0

#4 Brooklyn defeated #5 John Jay, 3-0

Semifinals/Final - Thursday, April 13th @ Hunter

4pm: #2 Baruch defeated #3 Lehman, 3-0

6pm: #1 Hunter defeated #4 Brooklyn, 3-0

8pm: #1 Hunter defeated #2 Baruch, 3-1
