Softball Defeats York on Senior Day

The softball team is off to a 9-3 overall record and 4-0 start in the CUNYAC following a doubleheader sweep (18-2, 13-2) of the Cardinals of York College on Sunday afternoon at Randall's Island Field #12.

In the first game, the Bearcats totaled 17 hits in the 18-2 win. Seniors Kristen Podlovits (4-for-4, three runs, three RBI) and Christina Chin (3-for-4, three RBI) led the team in the win.

Chin had another solid effort in the second game batting 3-for-4 with three runs scored, while Juliann Gross had a triple, two RBI and two runs scored in the 13-2 win.
 
Prior to the doubleheader, the team honored seniors Podlovits, Chin and Gross for their loyalty and dedication to the softball program.

The Bearcats will return to action on Tuesday, April 11, with a rescheduled 3:00 p.m. CUNYAC doubleheader against rival Hunter College at Padavan-Preller Fields in Jamaica, New York.
