Women's Basketball: Bearcats 74, York 72

The women's basketball team defeated the Cardinals of York College, 74-72, in a tight CUNYAC contest on Friday night in Jamaica, New York.  

The visiting Bearcats led by 13 points in the fourth period, but held on for the narrow win.

They connected on seven total free throws by four different players in the final 1:06 to seal the win to improve to 4-5 in conference play.

Melinda Spahiu led the Bearcats with another impressive double-double of 24 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and three steals.  

Shannon Barrett finished with 16 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks.

Daniela Arias nearly had a double-double with 17 points, nine rebounds and three steals.Lissette Debord totaled 10 rebounds in the big win.  

Karen Bellamy had a big night for the hosts with 33 points and 11 rebounds.
