Late CCNY Run Downs Bearcats

The women's basketball team suffered a tough 65-58 CUNYAC loss on Friday night against the  Beavers of CCNY.

The turning point was in the start of the fourth period when the visiting Beavers went on a game-busting 17-2 run to turn a 43-42 lead into a 60-44 score with 3:05 left.

The Bearcats managed to get as close as six points (62-56) in the final minute, but the visitors held on for the win.

The Bearcats had three double-figure scorers led by Shannon Barrett with her tenth double-double of the season of 18 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots.

Melinda Spahiu recorded her fifth double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds to go along with four steals.

Daniela Arias totaled 14 points, eight rebounds and three steals.

For CCNY, Erica Redwood led the visitors with 17 points and seven rebounds.
