The men's and women's swimming teams each competed on Thursday night at a dual meet against Adelphi University and host Queens College in Flushing, New York.  

The men came out victorious against their NCAA Division II opponent, while the women suffered two losses, including a close one to Queens, who is also NCAA Division II.

The Bearcats will next begin their CUNYAC schedule on Friday, November 16, at 6:00 p.m. at home against the College of Staten Island.


MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS (Yards)

*Erich Moeslinger, Erik Kantar, Evan Nikolic, Julian Tineo placed second (1:48.25) in the 200 yard medley relay.

*The Bearcats finished 1-2-3 in the 1,000 freestyle with Matthew Greenfield (12:31.44), Joseph Vasile (12:33.48) and Mohammed Amer (14:40.29).

*Nikolic (2:05.74) was second in the 200 free.

*Juan Bedoya took first in both the 50 free (32.27) and 100 butterfly (54.84).

*Moeslinger, the CUNYAC Rookie of the Week, won the 100 back in 58.39.

*Kantar (1:12.36) was second in the 100 breaststroke.

*The head-to-head meet against Adelphi ended in the very close 200 free relay with David Matskovsky, Vasile, Morgan Welling, and Bedoya in second at 1:34.96.

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS (Yards)

*The 200 relay team of Ashley Louke, Yee Chung Phang, Wendy Ambrosio, and Amanda Lee were second in a time of 2:00.85.

*Nicole Astudillo in the 1,000 free was second (13:37.49) against Adelphi.

*Andrea Gasic (2:13.75) was second against both Adelphi and Queens in the 200 free.  She later came in second to both teams in the 500 free (6:11.16).

* Amanda Lee (27.11) was second against Adelphi and Queens in the 50 free and also second against both teams in the 100 free (58.94).  

*Yee Chung Phang (2:22.77) beat Adelphi and was second against Queens in the 200 IM. She later beat Queens and was second to Adelphi (1:12.54) in the 100 breaststroke.

*Ambrosio (1:08.28) was second against both teams in the 100 butterfly.

 *Louke (1:08.89) was second in the 100 backstroke.   

*The women's meet ended with the 200 free relay of Gasic, Karina Gotz, Onika George and Ambrosio in second (1:48.50).
