Men's Volleyball Finishes Second in CUNYAC Championship

The men's volleyball team lost in three (18-25, 16-25, 22-25) to the Hawks of Hunter College in the championship match of the 2018 Tournament on Friday night at home in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats were making their 13th straight appearance in the championship match, dating back to 2005. 

The Hawks won totaling 44 kills hitting .267, while the Bearcats had 32 kills at .119.

Steven Lopez was the top attacker with 10 kills and 13 digs. Rookie Edward Grinberg dished out 21 assists and collected 10 digs.

Qendrim Shala led the rival Hawks with 13 kills.

The Bearcats defeated John Jay in four ( (25-22, 25-18, 20-25, 25-15) to advance past the semifinal round earlier in the day. Lopez notched a career-high 21 kills for the win. Grinberg also came up big with a career-high 45 assists.

Lopez and Stephen Roach were each named to the All-Tournament Team.
