The softball team dropped both games of their doubleheader against Sarah Lawrence College on Friday afternoon in Bronxville.
The Bearcats lost 8-0 in five innings in the first game, then made the second contest more interesting before falling 6-4.
In the opening game, it looked like the visiting Bearcats bats had woken up in the fourth inning when Danielle Petrunti and Kaitlyn Vichas both singled. It wasn't to be for Baruch though, as Sarah Lawrence used four home runs to power past the Bearcats.
After falling behind 5-0 in the second game, Nicole Bellini's four hits helped keep the Bearcats within striking distance. Gabrielle Huezo had two RBIs in the game, and Petrunti also drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.
The Bearcats rallied to get the tying run on base in the 7th inning, but came up short in the end.
The team will play again on Sunday at 12 p.m. when they travel to play first-place Staten Island in a CUNYAC doubleheader that will have playoff implications on the line.
