Bearcats Defeat Medgar Evers (3-1) to Improve to 3-0 in CUNYAC

The men's soccer team defeated the Cougars of Medgar Evers College, 3-1, in a CUNYAC home match on Saturday morning at Randall's Island Field #70.     

The Bearcats out-shot the Cougars, 19-8, en route to staying undefeated in the conference at 3-0.

Stanley Goldberg opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a free kick from 30 yards for his first goal of the season in the only score of the opening half.

Javier Arellano Crespo scored his sixth of the season on a header off a free kick by Goldberg in the 64th minute.

The visiting Cougars pulled one back with a penalty kick by Darrell Ambersley in the 83rd minute to help resuscitate their chances, but the Bearcats clinched the win with Luis Munoz scoring on a cross by Christian Minich in the final minute for the 3-1 score line.

Kellen Sela got the win with three saves as the team now has three wins and one draw in their last four matches.

The Bearcats will continue their CUNYAC in-league schedule on Wednesday night at York College.
