Men's Volleyball Begins Season, Defeat St. Joseph's (Brooklyn)

The men's volleyball team began their 2019 schedule on a winning note with a 25-6, 25-12, 25-12 sweep of St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn on Tuesday night in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats hit .412 and led throughout the home opener match against the visiting Bears from the Skyline Conference.

Steven Lopez led with 10 kills, hitting .471. Andrew Tsororos (.385) and Artem Zinkin (.600) each had seven kills as part of the attack.

Edward Grinberg had 15 assists and rookie Stallone Shankar tallied 13 assists.

Tim Driscoll led the Bears with six kills and four digs.

The Bearcats will travel this weekend to Rhode Island to compete at the Johnson & Wales Invitational. They will begin play against current nationally-ranked No. 1 Springfield College.
